Located in LEICESTER’S VIBRANT WEST END
20 Western Blvd, Leicester LE2 7BU
Just outside the city centre, right on the River Soar, The Venue@DMU is a conference venue with easy access from road, rail and bus.
A new, free electric Green Hop bus service now operates in a circular route, providing free transport from the railway station.
The Venue has some parking available for blue badge holders.
Leicester is a great location, central to England and offers easy access from across the country. There are many ways to get to MarketEd.Live 2023; we encourage you to use public transport where possible.
Leicester is on the Midland Mainline, from London to Sheffield. It is also accessible from many other areas directly.
East Midlands Railway leaves from London St. Pancras International. Fast trains have Leicester as the first stop and will take just over one hour. Slower trains that stop at places like Luton, Bedford, Kettering tend to be a bit cheaper. We recommend travelling off-peak.
From the North East
If you’re travelling from the North East, the easiest route is probably via Sheffield or Peterborough.
From the North West
If you’re travelling from the North West, the easiest route is probably via Nuneaton or Sheffield.
From the South West/Wales
If you’re travelling from the South West or Wales, the route is likely to go via Birmingham. Birmingham New Street is a large station with many different zones, entrances and exits. Give yourself time to change.
If you’re travelling from Scotland, you have the choice of starting on the East Coast or West Coast mainlines. Follow the info for the North East/North West above.
There is currently industrial action on the railways which may affect your travel to and from the event. Keep up to date with your train operating company to see how you may be affected and get in touch with us if you need advice on your arrangements.
Leicester is easily accessible by road. There is some limited parking at the event venue for people with a disabled blue badge. Please contact us if you need to use this so we can organise this.
There are numerous car parks in the city centre, many of which are privately operated. Parking can be pricey. Here is a map of nearby car parks. If you are staying at a hotel, check with them directly on their parking options.
The Venue@DMU has advised that they have a car park that you can use on campus. This is probably the cheapest parking there will be. Bear in mind this is a 7 minute walk from the event venue.
Leicester, LE2 7DP
Please find a space in the visitor car park. You will need to pay and display (£4) and collect a permit from the Estates Services Building which you would have passed at the entrance to the car park.
