MarketEd.Live 2019 is just around the corner and to say we’re excited is an understatement. We’ve got a stellar line-up of speakers again this year and, while we don’t want to give too much away, we thought we’d give you a sneak preview of what they’ll be talking about at Nottingham Contemporary on Monday, September 30. So here’s a bit more about Phylecia Jones and a taster of what you can expect.
MarketEd.Live would not be the same without some valuable insight from across the pond each year, and 2019 is certainly no different.
Last year we were treated to Chris Strub, and Brian Fanzo the year before that. This year, we just know Phylecia Jones will be greeted by a rousing reception when she takes to the stage. You won’t want to miss her talk, believe us.
Phylecia is a TEDx speaker, a STEM advocate and founder of iFind You Close, helping speakers research and book more stages across the globe. She is also a US TV money expert, an American version of Martin Lewis, if you will.
Not only that, Phylecia is also a former computer scientist and systems engineer with the US Navy. Yes, “wow” indeed.
And the reason she’s coming all the way from Denver, Colorado, to Nottingham is to talk about the power of speaking as a marketing tool. She’ll also be handing out some top tips and secrets on how to make speaking work for you and your business.
Learn why speaking creates instant expert status
Phylecia has more than 18 years of research, analytics and entrepreneurship experience that she wants to share to those who want to use public speaking to share the message of their company, business or expertise.
“That is why I created iFind You Close,” she says. “I take the guesswork out of getting in front of audiences consistently. I have given a TEDx talk, emceed events, interviewed on podcasts and featured on television.
“This is not to brag, but to say, if I can do this… so can you, and it does not have to be a secret. I am dedicated to building this agency on giving information that is useful, that is affordable and that makes a difference.
“At MarketEd.Live, I’m going to talk about how to leverage speaking as a marketing method to gain credibility and clients.
“What people can expect to learn is why speaking creates instant expert status and can close the know, like and trust factor quickly in order to convert and retain customers.”
Looking for the lightbulb moment
Phylecia has featured on hundreds of stages in the US, Canada and here in the UK, and there are some very big reasons why she’s looking forward to speaking at MarketEd.Live this year.
“I love visiting the UK and this will be my second time in Nottingham,” she says. “Not only am I looking forward to exploring the city, but I cannot wait to learn from others in the marketing industry.
“Attending events like this, hands down, helps my business to grow. I will learn from others in the marketing industry. I get to meet new people and make great connections. I also get to have fun at the same time.
“And, as a lifelong learner, I am always looking for a lightbulb moment. That one idea, thought, person or challenge that can help me get to the next level. I am looking forward to that moment at MarketEd.Live 2019.”
