Brands and agencies have a complex relationship with diversity. We tell ourselves that diversity is good for business. That diversity will help us to stand out, diversity is morally right and integral to future-proofing our business. We host panels on diversity and write articles on diversity for our industry news. And yet, when it comes to doing diversity we falter. We make excuses. It's 'difficult'. In this talk I'll be drawing on my own experiences as a cofounder of a diversity network, to explore why agencies and brands find doing diversity difficult, what small steps agencies can implement to effect greater change across your business, and what the impacts are when you do diversity well.
